Acceptance and Peace

On Sunday I had the privilege to preach once again at the CoSBT Myanmar Service. There were alot of new faces this time around because of the natural high turn-over rate – the fellowship is mostly made up of women and the majority work as maids/household helpers. Still it was a joy to spend time with them!

I brought a message from the book, giving a brief overview of the book and then drawing out some of the lessons that can be learnt…:

  1. Bad things sometimes happen to good people.
  2. Wait patiently for the Lord, He will come to your aid.
  3. Satan has no authority over the believers life unless it is given to him.

The main lesson I personally took away is that as long as my relationship with God is correct then I ought to face trials with the peace that comes from the Lord. Job didn’t waver in this area. He knew that for his part he was living correctly before God.

Job 1:21
21 He said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there; the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
(NRSV)

First be sure of your walk with God. And then walk with peace.
